Kareena Kapoor Khan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, director Meghna Gulzar, producers Vineet Jain and Dr Jayantilal Gada and Junglee Pictures CEO Amrita Pandey attended the trailer launch of Daayra at a multiplex in Mumbai. Prithviraj Sukumaran entertained the audience as he narrated how he came on board Daayra. Prithviraj Sukumaran began by saying, I was offered Daayra when I had said yes to a very big film in South India S S Rajamoulis Varanasi. Hence, I knew that in the months ahead, I wont have time to do anything else other than the films I was doing in Malayalam cinema and Varanasi. But when Meghna Gulzar asks for a meeting, I presume any actor in this country would definitely meet her! Hence, I met her and prepared myself to very politely decline her offer. Prithviraj continued, She narrates the film very, very well. I heard her narration and told myself, Oh, damn! I cant say no to this. Then, I asked her, Who is playing Ajuni?. She replied, I am hoping that Kareena would play that role. I told myself, Now, I have to say yes to this film (smiles). Thats how I came on board and I am so happy that I did this film. Prithviraj Sukumaran raised laughs as he stated, Meghna Gulzar is one of the nicest human beings I have met and one of the toughest filmmakers I worked with! I have had many arguments with her. But the thing with Meghna is that she never fails to answer a why. And I ask a lot of whys! Every time she asks me to do something in a particular way, Ill ask her, Why do you want me to do it that way?. And then she would have this really specific answer with such clarity that I would walk back and think, I am also a filmmaker. I should also be similarly equipped! Daayra releases in cinemas on September 18. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, director Meghna Gulzar, producers Vineet Jain and Dr Jayantilal Gada and Junglee Pictures CEO Amrita Pandey attended the trailer launch of Daayra at a multiplex in Mumbai. Several female actresses have played the role of police officers in the recent past, but Kareena Kapoor Khan assured that her portrayal of a cop stands out. Kareena Kapoor Khan explained, My character in Daayra is very sure and sensitive. I wont say shes assertive as such. She knows what shes doing, particularly when it comes to this situation that theyre handling in the film. So, shes not a typical butch cop. Shes a pretty cop also. Meghna Gulzar added, Shes a cop who wears lipstick. Because women like wearing lipstick! Kareena Kapoor Khan added, Just because youre a cop, you dont have to be a particular way. We have kept her feminine slightly because as women, we have to own who we are and we are proud of who we are also. So, regardless of whether or not youre a cop or whether youre wearing a trouser, it doesnt mean that you have to become the ab-main-mukka-maarne waali hoon type of a person! Kareena Kapoor Khan remarked, The way Meghna has written Ajuni has given me more darja in my life. I feel that, as a mother, as an actor. It has stayed with me. I also feel that ever since Ive become a mother, Ive also become a better actor. I dont know why (laughs). Daayra releases in cinemas on September 18. Also Read: Prithviraj Sukumaran reveals he was ready to REJECT Daayra due to S S Rajamoulis Varanasi; admits Kareena Kapoor Khan was a BIG reason why he came on board: When Meghna Gulzar asks for a meeting, any actor would DEFINITELY meet her

The much-awaited emotional drama Om Ka Hari, starring Anshuman Jha and Raghubir Yadav in the titular roles, is set to release theatrically on September 18, 2026. Directed by Harish Vyas, the film also stars Soni Razdan, Samta Sudiksha and Ayesha Kapur in key roles and brings to the screen one of the oldest rivalries known to mankind, father vs son. At its heart, Om Ka Hari is a story about a relationship where love is often the hardest thing to say out loud. This is First Ray Film's 5th production and it tells the narrative about a stubborn father (Hari Prasad Sharma) in Bhopal and his independent minded son (Om Prasad Sharma) - their conflicts which begins in Bhopal and culminate in Varanasi. The father-son dynamic is as old as family itself: the son who wants to break free, the father who believes he knows what is best - generational divide. And about irrespective of which one of them wins, the rest of the family loses. Om Ka Hari finds its emotional core in that timeless tug-of-war, the oldest rivalry of them all, father vs son, and asks a simple but deeply difficult question: What if we could finally tell our fathers that we love them? And what if they could tell us too? For Harish Vyas, the film also brings a larger cinematic journey to its emotional conclusion. Om Ka Hari completes his trilogy of films exploring love and the importance of expressing it. His debut feature, Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain with Sanjay Mishra, Pankaj Tripathi, Ekavali Khanna and Anshuman Jha, explored the importance of saying I love you to your partner, even after decades of marriage, reminding us that love cannot simply be assumed; it needs to be expressed. Speaking about the film and completing this trilogy, director Harish Vyas says, I think all three of my films have been about love, but about different kinds of love and, more importantly, about the things we struggle to say. Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain was about reminding a husband and wife that after 30 years of marriage, you still need to say I love you. Hum Bhi Akele-Tum Bhi Akele was about discovering love in friendship. And Om Ka Hari is perhaps the most personal and universal of the three about a father and son who love each other deeply but have forgotten how to say it. There is no rivalry older than father vs son. And I have two of the finest actors from their respective generations take on the title roles. We fight, we challenge each other, we carry expectations and hurt, but underneath all of that is love. Sometimes, all it takes is saying it. The film marks the third collaboration between Harish Vyas and Anshuman Jha, following their previous films, Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain and Hum Bhi Akele-Tum Bhi Akele. This further strengthens their actor-director partnership. With Jha and Raghubir Yadav at its centre, Om Ka Hari brings together two generations of performers for a story that moves seamlessly between conflict, humour, tenderness and reconciliation. Adding to the films emotional and nostalgic appeal is its music soundtrack, which features songs by the legendary late Asha Bhosle, Amit Kumar, Paresh Pahuja and other celebrated voices. The music forms an integral part of the films world, complementing its themes of memory, relationships and the passage of time. The film has also had an encouraging festival journey, with its World Premiere at Stuttgart in 2025, followed by its Australian Premiere at IFFM Melbourne, North American Premiere at CSAFF, and its Indian Premiere at the Closing Gala at Red Lorry Film Festival. Produced by First Ray Films, Om Ka Hari releases theatrically on September 18, 2026.
