The 14th edition of the Rajnigandha Presents Jagran Film Festival (JFF) is set to commence on August 20 in New Delhi. The travelling film festival will begin with a four-day opening chapter at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath, before travelling across 14 cities and concluding with the Jagran Film Festival Awards in Mumbai on November 1, 2026. Following its Delhi leg, the festival will travel to Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Agra, Dehradun, Gorakhpur, Hisar, Ludhiana, Patna, Ranchi, Meerut and Mumbai, continuing its focus on bringing Indian and international cinema to audiences across multiple cities. The opening ceremony is expected to be attended by the Hon'ble Minister of Information & Broadcasting along with members of the film fraternity, diplomats and other guests. Srinagar, Aug 2: Srinagar-born Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Sana Fayaz of the AGMUT cadre has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning five prestigious awards at the convocation ceremony of the 2024 IFS batch held at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Dehradun, on Saturday. She is understood to be the first woman from the Kashmir valley to join the Indian Forest Service as a direct recruit through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination. The Indian Forest Service (IFS) is one of Indias three All India Services, alongside the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS). In recognition of her outstanding academic performance, field competence, and professional excellence during training, Sana was conferred the Dr. B.N. Ganguly Award for Academic Excellence, the Senior Forester Prize for Best Field Forester, the D.C. Agarwal Prize for Land Management and Soil Conservation, the Sulochana Naidu Memorial Prize, and the K.P. Sagreya Shreshtha Vanik Puraskar. Greater thematic variety and occasional experimentation with poetic structure might have made the collection even stronger. Yet these are small observations beside the anthologys emotional achievement. Its greatest strength lies in its honesty. Nothing feels artificial. Nothing feels written merely for effect. Saffron Winds is ultimately a book about roots that refuse to die. It reminds us that a homeland is more than geography; it is memory, language, affection and faith carried within the human heart.
