Bhumi Pednekar has spoken out following the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl inside a moving sleeper bus in the Delhi-NCR region. The incident has raised fresh concerns about the safety of women and minors while travelling on private buses. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has also taken cognisance of the case. Bhumi addressed the incident through her Instagram Stories on Monday. Questioning how such cases continue to occur despite repeated discussions about womens safety, she wrote, How can we see this happen again and again and again! Shame! According to a Hindustan Times report, Delhi Police arrested the driver and conductor of a sleeper bus for allegedly gang-raping the minor. Police said the teenager, a Class 11 student from Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, was allegedly misled into boarding the bus in Greater Noida earlier this month. The accused allegedly drove her across different parts of Delhi-NCR before abandoning her near Kashmere Gate. The case has also resulted in a jurisdictional dispute between the police forces of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. UP Police have alleged that Delhi Police did not inform them about the incident despite the alleged assault taking place within the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate area. According to Delhi Police, the teenager had left her home on August 3 without informing her parents after being reprimanded by her mother over her studies. She was travelling to her cousins residence in Sector 63, Noida. Police said the girl accidentally got down at Pari Chowk after it became dark and heavy rain began. She reportedly signalled to an approaching bus for help, following which the conductor allegedly told her that the bus was headed towards Sector 63. She boarded the vehicle, where police said there were no other passengers. The conductor allegedly behaved inappropriately with her after the bus started moving. Police alleged that both the driver and conductor sexually assaulted the teenager and threatened to kill her when she resisted. Following the complaint, Delhi Police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The girl underwent a medical examination, which confirmed the assault. Investigators used CCTV footage and other information to trace the bus to a parking area in Timarpur, north Delhi. The vehicle was seized and sent for forensic examination. The teenager was subsequently produced before the Child Welfare Committee and, following its directions, handed over to her father. On the work front, Bhumi was last seen in Daldal, where she portrayed DCP Rita Ferreira, a police officer investigating a series of murders in Mumbai while dealing with a troubled past. The series, based on Vish Dhamijas bestselling novel Bhendi Bazaar, is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Indian Premier League: Indian Premier League founder Lalit Modi emphasised that the growth of state T20 leagues is a positive development for Indian cricket that can help identify talent at local levels, but cautioned that very close monitoring should be carried out by the state cricket associations to keep them free from any possible corrupt approaches. The rise of state T20 leagues has helped unleash a new generation of cricketers, with several players making the most of the opportunities and attracting the attention of state associations and IPL franchises. I think state leagues are a positive development for Indian cricket. This was bound to happen as the IPL ecosystem grew, and if properly structured, these leagues can become an excellent pathway for young and undiscovered talent to perform under pressure, get noticed and potentially graduate to the IPL and higher levels, Modi told IANS. How did the concept get locked? This music video is quite cinematic. Normally, a regular, formulaic music video has hook steps, four cars and girls! But since the feel of this song is different, I told music director Manil Kandwal that the video should focus on a different kind of obsession with your lover. New Delhi, Aug 31: The National Cybercrime Threat Analytics Unit of Ministry of Home Affairs has advised people against a rise in financial frauds through malicious Android applications masquerading as pornography apps. The Ministry said that these applications are being circulated mainly through advertisements on Facebook and Instagram under names such as Night Play, Reloop, Kyss, Vimo, Rivo, Nexo and Vixa, among other similar variants. The Ministry said that the malicious advertisements redirect users to websites containing pornographic content, where they are prompted to download APK files from sources outside the Google Play Store. It added that once installed, the applications seek sensitive permissions, including Accessibility access, which can enable attackers to take control of the device and potentially carry out financial fraud. The Ministry further said that some of these applications may also download additional packages by posing as an app update and may install a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that can route the users internet traffic through attacker-controlled servers. The malicious application may also prevent users from uninstalling it through device settings. The Ministry, in an advisory, has advised people to install applications only from the Google Play Store or other trusted app stores. Users have also been advised not to download APK files through advertisements, websites or suspicious links and not to grant Accessibility permission to unknown applications. It asked citizens to verify the device and confirm that the suspicious application has been removed. It added that if the app cannot be removed or returns after restarting, back up your important data and perform a Factory Reset.

The Madhya Pradesh: East Zone vice-captain Vaibhav Sooryavanshi dazzled with a stroke-filled 92, helping his side reach parity with defending champions Central Zone before Mukesh Kumar struck twice to end Day 2 on a high for East on Monday.
