In a major relief for farmers, Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay declared an extensive expansion of farm loan waivers, including full debt forgiveness for cooperative loans up to Rs 75,000. This groundbreaking initiative is poised to aid more than 138,000 farmers, resulting in an extra financial commitment of Rs 953 crore from the government, accumulating a total waiver of Rs 6,220 crore benefiting 1.33 million individuals.
