Chemists develop method for the synthesis of natural compounds with potential in medicine

A team of scientists from the Department of Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Charles University, Prague, has reported a new method that simplifies the preparation of complex molecules. The work was published in the journal Organic Letters. Such molecules are related to natural compounds known for their anticancer and anti-inflammatory effects. The new approach could help scientists prepare different variants of these compounds and study their biological effects.
