UP launches Yuva Adda to promote Gen Z entrepreneurship under CM Yuva

With Generation Z increasingly looking beyond conventional jobs and exploring startups, innovation and self-employment, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched 'Yuva Adda' under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (CM Yuva) to build a comprehensive entrepreneurship ecosystem for young people. The initiative aims to transform youth from job seekers into job creators by offering mentorship, skill development, financial assistance, networking opportunities and market linkages through a single platform. Officials said on Tuesday that Yuva Adda has been designed as an integrated entrepreneurship support system, providing aspiring entrepreneurs access to mentorship, technical training, business consultancy, financial assistance, digital tools and market linkages. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conceptualised the initiative to bridge the gap between young people and entrepreneurship by creating informal, collaborative spaces where aspiring entrepreneurs can interact with experts, refine business ideas and receive guidance in a caf-style environment. Unlike conventional training centres, Yuva Adda supports entrepreneurs throughout their business journey. The initiative offers a relaxed setting where participants can discuss ideas, seek expert advice and work towards turning their business concepts into successful ventures. Participants receive assistance in developing business ideas, preparing project reports, obtaining bank loans, enterprise registration, GST compliance, digital branding, Google Business Profiles, WhatsApp Business integration, e-commerce onboarding and business expansion. To reduce risks for first-time entrepreneurs, the programme also provides access to more than 100 ready-to-operate franchise models. Recognising that entrepreneurship should begin during higher education, the initiative focuses on students from universities, colleges, polytechnics and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), encouraging them to identify business opportunities and build enterprises instead of relying solely on traditional employment after graduation. To prepare young entrepreneurs for emerging industries, Yuva Adda also offers training in Artificial Intelligence (AI), drone technology, electric vehicles (EVs), digital commerce and other advanced technologies. The state government plans to expand the initiative across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, ensuring that youth in rural and semi-urban areas also have access to entrepreneurship support. Special emphasis is being placed on strengthening women's self-help groups through packaging, branding and marketing support for locally made products. Yuva Adda functions as a year-round entrepreneurship platform, organising bankers' meets, startup clinics, business ideation workshops, founders' talks, technology events, college outreach programmes and mentoring sessions with successful entrepreneurs. The government aims to connect five lakh youth with the initiative by 2027, facilitate loans worth more than 1,000 crore, establish over 10,000 new enterprises and franchise businesses, and strengthen more than 25,000 MSMEs. Uttar Pradesh Projects Corporation Limited (UPICON) is implementing the initiative by coordinating with government departments, financial institutions and industry experts to provide integrated support to aspiring entrepreneurs. UPICON Managing Director Praveen Singh said Yuva Adda, being operated under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan, is being developed as a strong entrepreneurship platform for the state. He said the objective of the initiative is to build a robust entrepreneurship ecosystem that enables young people to establish successful enterprises while contributing to Uttar Pradesh's goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy and supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
