Animated Series 'The Legend of Karna' to Premiere on July 31
Sony LIV on Wednesday announced that its original animated series 'The Legend of Karna', inspired by one of the most iconic characters from the Mahabharata, will premiere on the streaming platform on July 31. Created by Sharad Devarajan and Jeevan J. Kang, and produced by Graphic India, the series chronicles Karna's extraordinary journeyfrom his birth to Kunti and the Sun God Surya to his rise as one of the greatest warriors in the Mahabharata. According to the makers, the story follows Karna's struggle against social prejudice after being raised in a charioteer's family despite possessing exceptional talent in archery. Throughout his life, Karna faces discrimination because of his social status while striving to earn respect and prove his worth on the battlefield. The series explores Karna's courage, loyalty, sacrifices, and inner conflicts, offering viewers a deeper understanding of one of the Mahabharata's most admired and complex characters. It also highlights the many challenges he overcomes in his pursuit of honour and recognition. Presented in an animated format, 'The Legend of Karna' aims to introduce the legendary warrior's story to a wider audience, including younger viewers, while remaining rooted in timeless themes of destiny, identity, friendship, and resilience.
