The film witnessed a remarkable resurgence after its theatrical re-release, emerging as one of India's most successful re-released films and further cementing its cult status. The sequel is expected to expand the eerie universe of Tumbbad, with Alia Bhatt, Sohum Shah and Nawazuddin Siddiqui leading the cast. Adesh Prasad will direct the next chapter, which is scheduled to hit theatres on December 3, 2027.
