'Schemes not for outsiders': Karnataka to pull plug on free electricity to 10 lakh non-voters

Karnataka government is auditing its free electricity scheme, Gruha Jyothi, after finding over 10 lakh non-voters and multiple claims per person. Strict eligibility norms, including voter verification and one Revenue Register number per beneficiary, are being enforced to prevent misuse and ensure benefits reach genuine residents.
